Spyderco Minarai Gyuto Chef’s Knife – 10.13″ CTS-BD1N Satin Plain Edge Black Polypropylene K19PBK

The Spyderco Minarai Gyuto K19PBK is the largest and most versatile member of the Minarai Series—named for the Japanese word for “apprentice.” Designed by world-renowned knifemaker Murray Carter, this 10-inch chef’s knife translates centuries of traditional Japanese bladesmithing into a durable, factory-made format. The 10.13-inch blade is precision-ground from CTS-BD1N, a high-carbon, nitrogen-enriched stainless steel that provides an exceptional balance of hardness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance.

The Gyuto profile is ideal for a wide range of kitchen tasks, from processing large proteins to fine vegetable prep. Its exceptionally thin, full-flat grind ensures effortless cutting, while the signature “Carter Elbow” distal taper reinforces the tip for intricate work. The handle is a traditional octagonal “wa”-style design made from injection-molded black polypropylene, offering a hygienic, lightweight, and non-slip grip that is built for the rigors of a professional kitchen. Handcrafted in Japan, the Minarai Gyuto is the perfect high-performance upgrade for aspiring chefs and home cooks alike.
