Muela Kodiak Stag – 4.02″ 4116 Stainless Satin Plain Edge Blade, Stag Handle with Nickel Silver Bolsters – 02MU023

When a hunting knife earns a permanent place in a culture’s traditions, it’s because it has proven itself every season for generations. The Muela Kodiak is that knife — a full-tang Spanish hunting classic trusted by field hunters worldwide for its balance of raw durability, hand-fitted craftsmanship, and the kind of elegant character that only natural materials and nickel silver hardware can deliver.

The Kodiak is forged as a single continuous piece of steel — full-tang construction from tip to pommel — which means there is no mechanical joint between blade and handle to flex, loosen, or fail under the stresses of field dressing and heavy camp use. The blade is ground from 4116 stainless steel, a German-origin cutlery steel well established in the hunting knife world for its reliable corrosion resistance, ease of maintenance, and consistent edge behavior in wet and bloody field conditions. 4116 sharpens quickly with standard field tools, holds a serviceable working edge through a full hunt, and resists the rust and staining that carbon steels demand constant vigilance against. The drop point blade profile keeps the tip strong and controlled — the right geometry for precision skinning work where tip integrity matters. The satin finish keeps light reflection to a minimum in the field while making cleaning straightforward.

Ideal For

The Muela Kodiak 02MU023 is built for field hunters who demand a full-tang fixed blade that performs through game processing, skinning, and camp tasks without asking for maintenance after every session. It is equally well-suited for knife collectors and heritage enthusiasts who appreciate the tradition of Spanish cutlery craftsmanship — hand-fitted natural stag, nickel silver bolsters, and a leather sheath represent a standard of finish that production knives rarely achieve at this price point.
