ESEE-4 3D Handle – 4.5″ 1095 OD Green Tall Flat Grind Drop Point Blade, Natural Canvas Micarta Handle, Black Polymer Sheath – ESEE-4POD-011

The ESEE-4 is one of ESEE’s most popular survival knives, sized to handle heavy camp work while staying light enough for the trail. This 3D Handle version pairs a 4.50″ OD Green 1095 drop-point blade with contoured natural canvas Micarta scales and a black polymer sheath, for a classic, field-ready look.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.188″ thick blade stock stands up to batoning, while the tall flat grind keeps the edge thin enough for clean slicing in camp and when processing game. The 3D handle uses contoured canvas Micarta scales shaped to fill the hand, with a warm, textured feel.

• Blade: 4.50″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, OD Green finish, tall flat grind, plain edge, 0.188″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 9.0″ overall.
• Handle: 3D-contoured natural canvas Micarta for a secure, textured grip. 4.50″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath included.
• Carry: 8.00 oz.

Ideal for: hunters and campers who want a mid-size knife for batoning and slicing; bushcrafters who prefer the classic feel of canvas Micarta over G-10; and preppers who want a tough survival blade larger than the ESEE-3.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE-4 3D Handle OD Green and Micarta: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-4 3D Handle with an OD Green blade and natural canvas Micarta (ESEE-4POD-011).

What kind of blade and sheath does the ESEE-4 3D Handle have?

It is a fixed blade with a 4.50-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.188 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with an OD Green finish, a tall flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

What is included with the ESEE-4 3D Handle?

The knife comes with its black polymer sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

Should I choose the Micarta or G-10 ESEE-4 3D Handle?

All share the same 4.50-inch 1095 blade, tall flat grind, 3D handle shape, and polymer sheath. Choose natural canvas Micarta with an OD Green blade for a classic look and a warm, textured feel. Choose G-10 for other colorways: Dark Earth, ESEE-4PDE-001, for a subdued look, or orange, ESEE-4POR-006, and Venom Green, ESEE-4PVG-007, for high visibility.

How does the ESEE-4 compare to the ESEE-3?

The ESEE-4 is the larger, heavier-duty sibling. It has a 4.50-inch blade at 0.188 inch thick, compared with the ESEE-3’s 3.88-inch blade at 0.125 inch thick, which gives it more reach and strength for batoning and heavier camp work.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so it needs more care than stainless steels. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the ESEE-4 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-4 is made in the USA.
