TOPS Yacare Machete Blk Can MIc (10.12″ 1095) TPYAC02

Jungle experiences have sparked incredible inspiration for TOPS designs! The Brakimo and Tanimboca Puukko are shining examples of knives that emerged from these vibrant jungle adventures, and now we are thrilled to introduce the Yacare as the next gem in this exciting series.

Crafted by TOPS’ General Manager Craig Powell, the Yacare reflects a fascinating journey. His first encounter with machetes of this unique style was in Costa Rica, where he saw them proudly worn by locals and showcased in decorative pieces. These machetes had a distinctive flair reminiscent of barong-styled blades but stood apart from typical Central American designs, capturing Craig’s imagination. After experiencing the Bushcraft Global trip in 2015, his passion for designing a machete solidified: “I’m definitely not a knife designer,” Craig admits with humility. “So collaborating with Leo was essential to bring this vision to life while ensuring it aligns perfectly with the TOPS line.”

The Yacare features robust 3/16” 1095 steel accompanied by TOPS’ innovative Tungsten Cerakote finish. Its thick, well-contoured black canvas Micarta handles offer both comfort and control. Designed to excel as a medium to heavy machete, its all-belly blade eagerly bites into vines, thickets, and wood materials alike! With its wide blade profile, high grind configuration, and impeccable weight balance—this is truly an adventurous tool that you’ll be excited to take along on your next camping trip or during your thrilling explorations like Joe Flowers’ Bushcraft Global Adventure in Colombia! Embrace every moment with confidence—with the Yacare at your side!
