Spyderco FB01PGYD Moran Fixed Blade with Upswept Gray Damasteel Blade and FRN / Kraton Handle

Celebrate a legacy of knifemaking artistry with the Spyderco Bill Moran Upswept FB01PGYD Sprint Run, a stunning fixed-blade tribute to the late, great master bladesmith Bill Moran. This limited-edition knife commemorates the 30th anniversary of Spyderco’s first fixed blade—a design collaboratively created with Moran—and what would have been his 100th birthday.

The heart of this exquisite piece is its 3.92-inch (100mm) full-flat-ground upswept blade, crafted from Damasteel’s “Dense Twist™” DS93X™ Martensitic Damascus Patterned Steel. This remarkable material isn’t just visually captivating with its intricate, flowing patterns; it’s also a high-performance steel that offers superior strength, outstanding edge retention, and excellent corrosion resistance. The upswept profile, a signature of Moran’s “Featherlight” design, provides exceptional cutting geometry for a wide range of tasks.

The handle is designed for a secure and comfortable grip, featuring injection-molded gray fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) scales, meticulously inlaid with black Kraton® rubber panels. This combination ensures a non-slip grip, even in challenging conditions, while maintaining the lightweight and balanced feel that Moran prioritized in his designs.

Completing this distinguished package, the FB01PGYD comes with a beautifully crafted genuine leather sheath, providing safe and classic carry. With an overall length of 8.06 inches (205mm) and a featherlight weight of just 3.0 ounces (83g), the Spyderco Bill Moran Upswept Sprint Run is a perfectly balanced and agile fixed blade.

This limited-edition knife is more than just a tool; it’s a piece of cutlery history, a fitting homage to a true icon who was instrumental in the rediscovery of hand-forged Damascus steel and the founding of the American Bladesmith Society. The FB01PGYD is sure to be a coveted collector’s item and a testament to timeless design and modern material excellence. Proudly made in Japan.
