Pro-Tech Oligarch Sinkevich – 3.25″ CPM MagnaCut Stonewash Plain Edge Wharncliffe Blade, Black Aluminum Handle – DS101

The Pro-Tech Oligarch DS101 is Dmitry Sinkevich’s collaboration with Pro-Tech in its most essential form — black anodized aluminum, stonewash CPM MagnaCut, blasted hardware, and a deep-carry clip that makes a 5.4-ounce knife disappear. The Oligarch reads as a dress automatic from a distance. In the hand it is something more considered: a thick-framed, handle-heavy folder engineered to the tolerances Pro-Tech maintains in Placentia, California, carrying a blade steel that has no business being in a production automatic at this price.

The blade steel is CPM MagnaCut, Crucible Industries’ benchmark powder-metallurgy stainless that delivers M390-level edge retention and wear resistance with corrosion resistance that rivals steels built specifically for that purpose. At 0.13 inches thick with a compound grind and Wharncliffe profile, the 3.25-inch blade optimizes for controlled slicing — the flat cutting edge runs the full usable length without belly curve consuming edge, and the acute tip tracks precisely on a surface. The stonewash finish breaks up light reflection across the blade flat and provides a working, carry-appropriate appearance that holds up through use without showing wear the way a satin finish would. Pro-Tech’s push-button automatic fires with consistent authority; the button lock engages the blade tang directly with no separate lock mechanics.
