Muela Phantom – 4.57″ X50CrMoV15 Stainless Satin Plain Edge Blade, Brown Micarta Handle – 02MU217

Most fixed blades make you choose between tactical capability and everyday versatility. The Muela Phantom 02MU217 refuses that compromise — a full-tang 4.57″ fixed blade in X50CrMoV15 stainless steel that carries cleanly on a belt for daily use, performs in the field for hunting and outdoor work, and arrives in a Kydex sheath ready for serious carry. The red anodized screw accents are the only thing about this knife that isn’t purely functional — and even they look intentional.

The Phantom is built full-tang — a single continuous piece of steel from blade tip through handle — giving it the structural foundation that separates a genuine working fixed blade from a knife assembled for display. The blade is ground from X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, a high-alloy German stainless steel well established in premium European hunting and tactical knives. Its chemistry — approximately 0.50% carbon with chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium additions — delivers a reliable performance profile: solid corrosion resistance for carry in humid, wet, or field environments; consistent edge behavior under working loads; and a sharpenability profile that responds well to ceramic rods and field stones without requiring specialized equipment. At 0.16″ blade thickness, the Phantom’s geometry balances cutting efficiency with the structural depth needed for a knife that will be carried hard and used seriously. The uncoated satin finish keeps the blade clean-looking, easy to maintain, and free of coatings that can chip or peel with sustained use.
