Microtech LUDT S/E Gen III Signature Series – 3.45″ M390MK Black Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Jade Green G10 Handle, Right-Hand Carry – 1135-1GTJGS-X4

The Microtech LUDT Gen III brings back one of Microtech’s best-selling knives from the mid-1990s, an automatic folder in the tradition of the Underwater Demolition Team knife, now with a jade green G10 handle, 24 silicon carbide bearings, and Torx screws.

M390MK is Microtech’s designation for its Böhler M390 powder-metallurgy stainless steel, known for strong edge retention and good corrosion resistance. In practice, that means a blade that stays sharp through long stretches of everyday cutting and resists rust with basic care. The 3.45″ drop-point blade is flat ground with a black finish, a crowned spine, thumb ramp jimping, a reinforced tip, and a fuller. Designed by Tony Marfione, the Gen III also adds a dedicated lanyard hole.

• Blade: 3.45″ M390MK drop point, flat grind, black finish, 0.133″ thick, 3.125″ plain cutting edge, fuller, crowned spine, thumb ramp jimping. 8.00″ overall.
• Handle: Weather-resistant jade green G10 with traction tape inserts, Torx screw construction, and a lanyard hole. 4.55″ closed, 0.515″ thick.
• Deployment + Lock: Push-button automatic with a Button Lock, riding on 24 silicon carbide bearings.
• Carry: Stainless steel pocket clip for tip-up, right-hand carry only. Knife only; no sheath included.

Ideal for: Microtech collectors who remember the original LUDT; automatic-knife owners who want a USA-made button-lock folder; and right-hand carriers looking for a full-size everyday automatic.

Answers to the most common questions about the Microtech LUDT Gen III Signature Series (1135-1GTJGS-X4).

Is it legal to own or carry an automatic knife like the LUDT where I live?

Automatic knife laws vary by federal, state, and local jurisdiction, and they change. Before ordering, check the laws where you live and carry. The American Knife and Tool Institute keeps state-by-state summaries at akti.org.

What kind of lock does the Microtech LUDT use?

The LUDT is a push-button automatic with a Button Lock. Pressing the button fires the blade open, the lock holds it in place, and pressing the button again releases the blade to close. The action rides on 24 silicon carbide bearings.

What does LUDT stand for?

The LUDT is Microtech’s take on the UDT, named for the Underwater Demolition Team knife. The original LUDT dates to the mid-1990s and became one of Microtech’s best-selling knives. The 2023 Gen III brings it back with Torx screws, a lanyard hole, and a fuller.

Can the pocket clip be moved for left-hand carry?

The LUDT Gen III is listed with a stainless steel pocket clip for tip-up, right-hand carry only. This is a knife-only listing, so no sheath is included. Packaging and contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

How do I care for the LUDT?

The M390MK blade is stainless, but keep it clean and dry after use. Keep pocket lint and debris away from the pivot and button, and the Torx screws make routine maintenance easier. Follow Microtech’s guidance before using any lubricant in the mechanism.

What warranty does the LUDT Gen III have, and where is it made?
