Knifemaking Guthook Blade Blank BL138 – 4.5″ Satin Finish Stainless Steel Blade, Integrated Brass Guard – BL138

The Knifemaking Guthook Blade Blank BL138 is a full-tang stainless blade blank built for custom knife makers who want a field-capable guthook on a proper structural foundation — not a budget casting that flexes under load. At 9.00″ overall and 10.56 oz, the blank has the spine mass and tang geometry to anchor a serious custom handle without compromise.

The blade is satin finished stainless steel at 4.50″ with a precision-cut deep-bellied guthook on the spine — the geometry that makes efficient, clean hide work possible without a secondary tool. The flat grind plain cutting edge handles general processing and skinning tasks on the same pass. At 0.145″ spine thickness, this blank is built for hard use, not display.

The full-tang chassis comes with a pre-fitted solid brass finger guard that establishes a clean shoulder for handle scale installation. Three pre-drilled pin holes along the tang accept standard pins or mosaic rivets for secure handle attachment. An integrated lanyard hole near the pommel adds functional utility to the finished build. Handle scales and fixing pins are sold separately — the blank ships ready for custom wood, G-10, or Micarta scale shaping and attachment.

Made in Pakistan on a premium contract run.
