Kershaw Launch 7 Automatic – 3.75″ CPM-154 Black Blade, Gray Aluminum Handle – 7900GRYBLK

The Kershaw Launch 7 7900GRYBLK is a push-button automatic with a 3.75-inch CPM-154 blade in a black finish, set in a gray aluminum handle, built for buyers who want instant one-handed deployment in Kershaw’s proven Launch automatic platform.

CPM-154 is Crucible’s powder-metallurgy version of the long-running 154CM stainless steel, the PM process produces a finer, more uniform carbide structure than conventionally cast 154CM, which translates to more consistent edge retention and a cleaner sharpening response. CPM-154 sits a step above older workhorse steels like 8Cr13MoV or standard 154CM in edge retention while remaining easier to sharpen and more corrosion-resistant than extreme high-vanadium steels like CPM-S90V.

The black blade finish on this Launch 7 is a coated treatment over the CPM-154 steel, chosen for a low-glare, tactical look, coated blades trade a small amount of long-term corrosion resistance at the coating’s wear points for reduced visual signature.

The gray aluminum handle keeps the Launch 7 lightweight while giving the automatic mechanism a rigid frame to actuate against, aluminum handles on automatics also help keep overall weight down compared to steel-lined designs.

The push-button automatic mechanism deploys the blade instantly at the press of the fire button, Kershaw’s Launch series automatics typically include a manual safety switch to prevent accidental deployment during carry.
