Kershaw Launch 17 Auto – 3.5″ CPM MagnaCut Black Cerakote Clip Point Blade, Black Aluminum & G-10 Inlays Handle USA Made – 7951BLK

The Kershaw Launch 17 7951BLK is a USA-made side-button automatic folder with a 3.5-inch CPM MagnaCut black Cerakote clip point blade on a black aluminum handle with G-10 inlays — the only CPM MagnaCut clip point automatic in the Launch lineup, combining Crucible’s benchmark alloy with the refined acute-tip geometry of the clip point under the most durable blade coating in the series.

The Launch series represents Kershaw’s highest-tier USA-made automatic folder production — KVT ball-bearing pivot, side-button deployment, liner lock retention. The Launch 17 7951BLK runs CPM MagnaCut, the steel that changed the conversation for American-made production knives. Engineered by metallurgist Larrin Thomas and produced by Crucible Industries, CPM MagnaCut simultaneously outperforms CPM-S35VN and M390 in edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. In the Launch lineup, CPM MagnaCut has appeared in the Launch 22 (7205, FDE, blue Micarta variants) and the Launch Iridium Auto series — the 7951BLK is the first CPM MagnaCut clip point automatic in the Launch catalog. The black Cerakote coating adds a polymer-ceramic corrosion and abrasion barrier on top of CPM MagnaCut’s own near-H1 corrosion resistance — a double layer of protection that makes the 7951BLK the most corrosion-resistant CPM MagnaCut automatic in the Launch lineup. The clip point geometry runs the spine straight from the handle then curves it concavely downward to a fine, acute, lowered tip — the geometry associated with classic Bowie and jackknife traditions, excelling at precision entry and detail push cuts while maintaining a long useful cutting belly. At 3.5 inches, the Launch 17 carries the longest clip point blade in the Launch catalog. The black aluminum handle with G-10 inlays delivers hard fiberglass composite grip panels at the carry interface — G-10’s moisture-impervious, temperature-stable grip alongside the aluminum frame, the same construction type as the 7851BBLK but on the longer Launch 17 platform. All assembled in Tualatin, Oregon on Kershaw’s USA production floor.

• Blade: CPM MagnaCut steel, clip point profile, black Cerakote finish — benchmark edge retention, toughness, and near-H1 corrosion resistance under the most durable blade coating in the Launch lineup; Cerakote + MagnaCut’s own corrosion resistance deliver the most corrosion-protected CPM MagnaCut automatic in the catalog; refined clip point geometry with acute lowered tip
• Handle: Black aluminum with G-10 inlays — hard, moisture-impervious G-10 grip panels alongside the aluminum frame; all-black carry-neutral package; longer 3.5-inch platform than the Launch 19
• Deployment: Side-button automatic — press the button on the spine; KVT ball-bearing pivot delivers fast, smooth, one-hand deployment; liner lock retention
• Carry: Longest clip point in the Launch lineup at 3.5 inches, USA made (confirm clip configuration)

Buyers who want CPM MagnaCut in the clip point geometry in the most full-size and capable platform — the 7951BLK is the only CPM MagnaCut clip point automatic in the Launch lineup, delivering the benchmark alloy in the most refined everyday blade geometry at 3.5 inches. Hard-use and tactical carry professionals who want MagnaCut’s benchmark performance under Cerakote for the most corrosion-protected automatic in the Launch catalog. Buyers who prefer the clip point’s refined acute tip and long belly over the drop point’s broader tip or the spear point’s symmetrical geometry, and want that clip point in the highest-performance steel available in the Launch lineup.

CPM MagnaCut, black Cerakote clip point, black aluminum with G-10 inlays, USA-made side-button automatic, and Kershaw Lifetime Warranty — the Kershaw Launch 17 7951BLK is the benchmark-steel clip point automatic in the Launch lineup.
