Kershaw Launch 15 Auto – 3.5″ Damascus Spear Point Blade, Black Aluminum & Tan Micarta Handle USA Made – 7950DAM

The Kershaw Launch 15 7950DAM is a USA-made side-button automatic folder with a 3.5-inch Damascus spear point blade on a black anodized aluminum handle with tan Micarta inlays — pattern-per-blade Damascus in the most versatile everyday geometry on a two-material handle that pairs the natural warmth of tan Micarta directly against the warm etched tones of the Damascus blade.

The Launch series represents Kershaw’s highest-tier USA-made automatic folder production — KVT ball-bearing pivot, side-button deployment, liner lock retention, and blade material that positions each variant precisely in the premium hierarchy. The Launch 15 7950DAM runs Damascus steel — forge-welded layered alloys manipulated through twisting, folding, or patterning before grinding to final geometry and acid-etched to reveal the contrasting layer pattern across the finished blade face. No two Damascus blades carry an identical pattern: the 7950DAM you receive is the only one with that exact pattern in existence. The spear point geometry delivers the most versatile everyday blade profile in the Launch Damascus lineup — a symmetrical tip centered between spine and edge, combining tip strength, slicing performance, and everyday utility in a single geometry that no other Launch Damascus variant offers. The black anodized aluminum handle with tan Micarta inlays is a deliberately warm two-material combination. Where black aluminum alone would create a cool-dark contrast against the warm Damascus etch tones, the tan Micarta inlays bridge that visual gap — tan Micarta sits in the same warm caramel and earth register as acid-etched Damascus, creating a handle-to-blade tonal continuity that no synthetic handle material can replicate. Micarta is produced by saturating layers of natural fiber — linen, canvas, or burlap — with phenolic resin under heat and pressure, producing a composite that develops a patina with handling over time. All assembled in Tualatin, Oregon on Kershaw’s USA production floor.

• Blade: Damascus steel, spear point profile — layered forge-welded construction with a pattern unique to each blade; symmetrical spear point for balanced everyday utility; acid-etched warm caramel and dark-brown tones that pair directly with tan Micarta’s color register; requires active moisture management
• Handle: Black anodized aluminum with tan Micarta inlays — the warmest and most tonally cohesive handle in the Launch Damascus lineup; tan Micarta extends the Damascus blade’s warm etched palette into the handle in a way no synthetic material can match; develops a natural patina with carry
• Deployment: Side-button automatic — press the button on the spine; KVT ball-bearing pivot delivers fast, smooth, one-hand deployment; liner lock retention
• Carry: USA made, 3.5-inch blade (confirm clip configuration)

Buyers who want a USA-made Damascus automatic folder in the most materially and tonally cohesive handle combination available — the 7950DAM pairs per-blade-unique Damascus with tan Micarta that directly complements the warm etched tones of the Damascus blade, a combination that reads as considered and premium in a way no all-aluminum handle achieves.
