Kershaw Launch 15 Auto – 3.5″ CPM MagnaCut Blackwash Spear Point Blade, Black Aluminum & Tan Micarta Inlays Handle USA Made – 7950

The Kershaw Launch 15 7950 is a USA-made side-button automatic folder with a 3.5-inch CPM MagnaCut blackwash spear point blade on a black aluminum handle with tan Micarta inlays — the benchmark alloy in no-maintenance stainless form, on the same premium tan Micarta and black aluminum handle combination established on the Launch 15 Damascus variant, now paired with consistent, measurable CPM MagnaCut performance.

The Launch series represents Kershaw’s highest-tier USA-made automatic folder production — KVT ball-bearing pivot, side-button deployment, liner lock retention. The Launch 15 7950 runs CPM MagnaCut, the steel that changed the conversation for American-made production knives. Engineered by metallurgist Larrin Thomas and produced by Crucible Industries, CPM MagnaCut simultaneously outperforms CPM-S35VN and M390 in edge retention, toughness, and near-H1 corrosion resistance. The spear point geometry delivers the most versatile everyday blade profile in the Launch 15 lineup — a symmetrical tip centered between spine and edge for balanced tip strength, slicing performance, and everyday utility. The blackwash finish applies a dark coating over a stonewash base, the underlying micro-texture creating visual depth and dimensional complexity in the dark surface rather than a flat uniform black. The black aluminum handle with tan Micarta inlays is the same premium two-material combination established on the Launch 15 Damascus variant (7950DAM) — black aluminum as the structural frame, tan Micarta’s warm caramel and earth-toned natural fiber providing organic warmth and tactile character against the cool black surround. On the Damascus variant, tan Micarta’s purpose was tonal continuity — its warm register mirrors the warm caramel tones of acid-etched Damascus. On the 7950, the blackwash blade carries no warm etch tones to complement, so tan Micarta functions differently here: as a standalone warm natural-material accent against the all-black blade and frame, independent of any blade-tone matching. The result is a handle that reads as premium and tactile in its own right rather than as a deliberate color echo of the blade. All assembled in Tualatin, Oregon on Kershaw’s USA production floor.

• Blade: CPM MagnaCut steel, spear point profile, blackwash finish — benchmark edge retention, toughness, and near-H1 corrosion resistance; dimensional dark blackwash surface; no active moisture maintenance required
• Handle: Black aluminum with tan Micarta inlays — the same premium tan Micarta and black aluminum combination as the Launch 15 Damascus variant; tan Micarta as a standalone warm natural-material accent against the all-black blackwash blade, rather than a tonal echo of an etched pattern
• Deployment: Side-button automatic — press the button on the spine; KVT ball-bearing pivot delivers fast, smooth, one-hand deployment; liner lock retention
• Carry: USA made, 3.5-inch blade (confirm clip configuration)

Collectors completing the Launch 15 family who want the 7950 MagnaCut alongside the 7950DAM Damascus and 7950GRY gray-green Micarta variants as the complete three-variant Launch 15 set.

CPM MagnaCut, blackwash spear point, black aluminum with tan Micarta inlays, USA-made side-button automatic, and Kershaw Lifetime Warranty — the Kershaw Launch 15 7950 is the no-maintenance benchmark-steel tan Micarta automatic on the Launch 15 platform.
