Kershaw Launch 14 Auto – 3.375″ CPM-154 Stonewashed Cleaver Blade, Black Aluminum & Red Carbon Fiber Onlay Handle USA Made – 7850RDSW

The Kershaw Launch 14 7850RDSW is a USA-made side-button automatic folder with a 3.375-inch CPM-154 stonewash cleaver blade on a black aluminum handle with red carbon fiber onlay — the most visually bold and color-forward configuration in the Launch 14 cleaver lineup, pairing the catalog’s widest blade face with the first and only colored carbon fiber handle material in the entire Launch series.

The Launch series represents Kershaw’s highest-tier USA-made automatic folder production — KVT ball-bearing pivot, side-button deployment, liner lock retention. The Launch 14 7850RDSW runs CPM-154, Crucible’s powder metallurgy version of 154CM — more uniform carbide distribution, better edge retention, improved toughness, and excellent corrosion resistance. No active moisture maintenance required. The cleaver blade geometry remains the defining characteristic of the Launch 14 — a broad, tall blade with a spine running nearly parallel to the cutting edge, producing the widest flat face in the Launch catalog and delivering maximum slicing surface in a draw cut or rocking push cut. The stonewash finish leaves CPM-154 in natural textured form across that broad face — matte, low-reflectance, developing a working patina with carry. The black aluminum handle with red carbon fiber onlay is the feature that most distinguishes the 7850RDSW from every other knife in the Launch catalog. Red carbon fiber is produced using the same woven crosshatch construction as standard black carbon fiber, but with red fibers replacing or blending with the black — the result is a carbon fiber composite that retains CF’s structural properties of light weight and high rigidity while displaying a bold red woven pattern instead of the conventional black or gray CF weave. Against the black aluminum frame, the red CF onlay reads as a deliberate color statement — the most visually assertive handle material combination in the entire Launch automatic catalog, surpassing even the boldest anodized colorways for color presence because the red is expressed through a textured woven material rather than a flat anodized surface. All assembled in Tualatin, Oregon on Kershaw’s USA production floor.
