Kershaw Launch 1 Auto – 3.4″ CPM MagnaCut Blackwashed Drop Point Blade, Black & Blue Aluminum Handle USA Made – 7100GBLUBLK

The Kershaw Launch 1 7100GBLUBLK is a USA-made side-button automatic folder with a 3.4-inch CPM MagnaCut blackwash drop point blade on a black and blue anodized aluminum handle — the benchmark alloy in the most broadly capable everyday blade geometry on the Launch 1 platform, in a two-tone handle that pairs the visual boldness of blue against a black surround for a distinctive carry piece.

The Launch series represents Kershaw’s highest-tier USA-made automatic folder production — KVT ball-bearing pivot, side-button deployment, liner lock retention. The Launch 1 7100GBLUBLK runs CPM MagnaCut, the steel that changed the conversation for American-made production knives. Engineered by metallurgist Larrin Thomas and produced by Crucible Industries, CPM MagnaCut simultaneously outperforms CPM-S35VN and M390 in edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The drop point geometry on the 7100GBLUBLK is the most broadly capable everyday blade profile in the Launch catalog — the spine curves smoothly down to a lowered, versatile tip that handles the full range of daily cutting tasks with more control than a clip point’s acute fine tip, more everyday utility than a tanto or Wharncliffe, and a long cutting belly suited to every carry context. The blackwash finish delivers CPM MagnaCut under a dark, low-profile coating that adds a functional corrosion barrier on top of MagnaCut’s near-H1 resistance. The black and blue anodized aluminum handle is a two-tone construction — black anodized aluminum forming the primary handle frame with blue anodized sections creating color contrast within the same aluminum structure. The blue-on-black two-tone creates a more visually dynamic handle than either solid color alone, reading as precisely engineered rather than uniformly neutral. All assembled in Tualatin, Oregon on Kershaw’s USA production floor.

• Blade: CPM MagnaCut steel, drop point profile, blackwash finish — benchmark edge retention, toughness, and near-H1 corrosion resistance; the most broadly capable everyday blade geometry in the Launch catalog; blackwash adds a dark functional corrosion barrier
• Handle: Black and blue anodized aluminum — two-tone construction with blue anodized sections against a black frame; more visually dynamic than either solid color; neither fully neutral nor boldly single-color
• Deployment: Side-button automatic — press the button on the spine; KVT ball-bearing pivot delivers fast, smooth, one-hand deployment; liner lock retention
• Carry: USA made, 3.4-inch blade (confirm clip configuration)

Blue-and-black carry buyers who want a two-tone handle that reads as visually considered rather than uniformly tactical or uniformly neutral. Collectors and carry buyers building out the CPM MagnaCut Launch family alongside the Launch 22 Micarta variants and the Launch Iridium Auto series.
