Izula Survival Kit – 2.63″ 1095 Dark Earth Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Dark Earth Skeletonized Handle – IZULA-DE-KIT

The ESEE Izula Survival Kit pairs the compact Dark Earth Izula fixed blade with a set of small survival accessories: paracord, a cord lock, two split rings, a ferro rod, an emergency whistle, and a snap hook. At 1.90 oz for the knife, it is built for low-profile everyday carry or as the core of a lightweight survival kit.

1095 carbon steel is a classic outdoor steel: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and dependable for everyday cutting. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The Izula’s 2.63″ flat-ground drop-point blade handles cutting cord, prepping tinder, and fine work, and the Dark Earth finish helps protect it. The skeletonized steel handle keeps weight to a minimum. The Izula takes its name from the Peruvian name for the bullet ant, an insect known for being small, hardy, and independent.

• Blade: 2.63″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, Dark Earth finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.16″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 6.25″ overall.
• Handle: Skeletonized steel in Dark Earth, keeping weight to a minimum. 3.375″ handle length.
• Kit Contents: Paracord, cord lock, large split ring, small split ring, ferro fire starting rod, emergency whistle, and plastic snap hook, plus an injection-molded black polymer sheath.
• Carry: 1.90 oz (knife only), light enough to add to any pack or kit.

Ideal for: hikers and backpackers who want an ultralight backup knife with fire and signaling basics; survival kit builders who want a ready-made starting point; and everyday carriers looking for a small, low-profile fixed blade.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The Dark Earth finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE Izula Survival Kit Dark Earth: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE Izula Survival Kit in Dark Earth (IZULA-DE-KIT).

What is included in the Izula Survival Kit?

The kit includes the Dark Earth Izula fixed blade with an injection-molded black polymer sheath, paracord, a cord lock, a large split ring, a small split ring, a ferro fire starting rod, an emergency whistle, and a plastic snap hook. Items not listed, such as first aid supplies, food, or water purification, are not included. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What kind of blade and sheath does the Izula have?

It is a fixed blade with a 2.63-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.16 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a Dark Earth finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge, on a skeletonized steel handle. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

How are the kit accessories used?

The paracord, cord lock, split rings, and snap hook can be used to rig the sheath for neck carry or to attach it to a pack or belt, and the paracord can also be wrapped around the skeletonized handle for added grip. The ferro rod is for starting fires, and the whistle is for signaling. Laws on carrying fixed blades, including around the neck, vary by location, so check your local laws before carrying.

How does this Izula compare to other Izula versions?

All Izula models share the same blade size, so their sheaths are compatible. This kit pairs a 1095 Izula with survival accessories. The Izula in stainless CPM S35VN, IZULA-S35VN, offers more corrosion resistance, and the Izula II, IZULA-II-BO, adds a longer Micarta handle for a fuller grip.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The Dark Earth finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the Izula have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The Izula is made in the USA.
