Izula II – 2.63″ 1095 Black Oxide Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Tan Micarta Handle – IZULA-II-BO ESIZ2BBO-B-219

The ESEE Izula II is the longer-handled version of ESEE’s compact Izula, built for low-profile everyday carry or as a lightweight survival kit knife. It pairs the Izula’s 2.63″ blade, here in 1095 carbon steel with a black oxide finish, with tan Micarta scales for a fuller, more secure grip, at just 3.20 oz.

1095 carbon steel is a classic outdoor steel: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and dependable for everyday cutting. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The flat-ground drop-point blade handles fine work like cutting cord, opening packages, and prepping tinder, and the black oxide finish helps protect it. The Izula takes its name from the Peruvian name for the bullet ant, an insect known for being small, hardy, and independent.

• Blade: 2.63″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, black oxide finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.156″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 6.75″ overall.
• Handle: Tan Micarta scales, longer than the standard Izula for a more secure grip. 4.12″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath included.
• Carry: 3.20 oz, light enough to add to any kit as a backup blade.

Ideal for: hikers and backpackers who want a compact backup knife with a real handle; survival kit builders who want a small, tough fixed blade; and everyday carriers looking for a low-profile fixed blade with a fuller grip than the Izula.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The black oxide finish helps protect the blade but can wear at contact points, and the edge is bare steel. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE Izula II Black Oxide: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE Izula II in 1095 black oxide with tan Micarta (IZULA-II-BO).

What kind of blade and sheath does the Izula II have?

It is a fixed blade with a 2.63-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.156 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a black oxide finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

What is included with the Izula II?

The knife comes with its black polymer sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What is the difference between the Izula II and the Izula?

Both share the same blade, so their sheaths are compatible with each other. The Izula II adds a longer handle with Micarta scales for a fuller, more secure grip, while the Izula keeps a bare skeletonized steel handle for the lightest possible weight.

How can I carry the Izula II?

At 3.20 oz with a compact polymer sheath, the Izula II works as a neck knife, a pack knife, or a backup blade in a survival kit. Laws on carrying fixed blades, especially concealed, vary by location, so check your local laws before carrying.

Will the 1095 blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The black oxide finish helps protect the blade but can wear at contact points, and the edge is bare steel, so wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the Izula II have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The Izula II is made in the USA.
