Izula – 2.63″ 1095 Purple Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Purple Skeletonized Handle – IZULA-PURP-BLK

The ESEE Izula is a compact 1.90 oz survival fixed blade with a 2.63″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, shown here in a purple coating with a matching purple skeletonized handle and a black molded polymer sheath.

The name comes from “Isula,” a name used in Peru for the bullet ant, an insect known for being tough, agile, and self-reliant. ESEE built the Izula on the same idea: a small, one-piece knife light enough to carry every day or tuck into a survival kit as a backup. The blade is flat ground from 1095 carbon steel at 55-57 HRC, a tough, straightforward steel that takes a keen edge and is easy to touch up in the field. The skeletonized steel handle keeps the weight down, and the purple coating gives it a color that stands out from the usual black and tan. ESEE notes that the Izula and the longer-handled Izula II share the same blade, so their sheaths are interchangeable.

• Blade: 2.63″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, flat grind, plain edge, purple coating, 0.16″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 6.25″ overall.
• Handle: Purple skeletonized steel, 3.375″ long.
• Construction: One-piece fixed blade, with no folding or locking mechanism.
• Carry: 1.90 oz. Includes an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

Ideal for: survival-kit builders who want a backup blade that adds almost no weight; hikers and campers who want a small fixed blade for neck or pack carry; and Izula collectors adding a purple colorway.

Care: 1095 is not stainless. It may develop a patina where the coating wears, so keep the blade dry and lightly oiled. Fixed-blade carry laws vary, so check your local laws before carrying.
