Heretic Auto Medusa – 3.25″ CPM MagnaCut Tanto Blade, Secret Cel Shade – H011-CS-SC

The Heretic Auto Medusa H011-CS-SC pairs a 3.25-inch CPM MagnaCut tanto blade with Heretic’s Secret Cel Shade finish, bringing the brand’s push-button automatic mechanism to the Medusa platform with a reinforced tip profile.

CPM MagnaCut is Crucible’s stainless steel engineered specifically for knife blades by metallurgist Larrin Thomas, rather than optimizing for one property, MagnaCut is formulated to deliver strong edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness simultaneously, closing the gap that usually forces a tradeoff between the three. Its balanced carbide structure keeps it easier to sharpen than extreme high-vanadium steels like CPM-S90V, while still outperforming older workhorse stainless steels like D2, 154CM, and CPM-S30V on corrosion resistance and edge stability.

The tanto blade shape on this Medusa trades the curved belly of a drop point or recurve for a reinforced, angular tip built for piercing and tip strength, a common choice for buyers who prioritize tip durability over general-purpose slicing geometry.

Secret Cel Shade is a specific named pattern within Heretic’s Cel Shade cosmetic line, applied over the same CPM MagnaCut blade regardless of finish, so the look changes without changing the steel’s performance.

The automatic mechanism deploys the blade at the push of a button, Heretic’s automatics typically use an out-the-front (OTF) design, though this should be confirmed for the Medusa platform specifically.

• Blade: 3.25″ CPM MagnaCut tanto blade, Secret Cel Shade finish, balanced edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness; tanto profile adds reinforced tip strength over a drop point or recurve grind.
• Handle: Material not stated for this configuration, verify against hereticknives.com before publishing.
• Deployment: Push-button automatic, likely out-the-front (OTF) based on the pattern of Heretic’s other automatics, not explicitly confirmed for the Medusa platform.
• Carry: 3.25-inch tanto blade platform on Heretic’s Medusa line, overall length, closed length, and weight not confirmed this session, verify against hereticknives.com before publishing.
• Buyers who want a reinforced tanto tip for piercing and hard-use tip strength rather than a curved slicing profile.
CPM MagnaCut buyers who want strong all-around performance, edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness, without the sharpening difficulty of extreme high-vanadium stainless steels.
Collectors interested in the Medusa platform and the Secret Cel Shade pattern within Heretic’s broader Cel Shade line.

CPM MagnaCut’s balanced edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness ground into a reinforced tanto blade with the Secret Cel Shade finish, the Heretic Auto Medusa H011-CS-SC is built for buyers who want tip strength and a distinctive cosmetic pattern in one automatic.
