ESEE Pinch Kit – James Gibson Pinch Neck Knife with Embossed Survival Tin and Gear – PINCH-KIT

The ESEE Pinch Kit is a pocket-size survival kit built around the Pinch, a tiny 1095 neck knife designed by knifemaker James Gibson. The knife and a set of grab-and-go survival essentials pack into a small embossed tin that fits in a pocket or backpack.

1095 carbon steel is a classic outdoor steel: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and dependable for small cutting tasks. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The Pinch’s 1.3″ Wharncliffe blade gives you a straight edge and a controlled point for cutting cord, prepping tinder, and fine work, and its black oxide finish helps protect the blade. The knife rides in a uniquely shaped neck sheath with magnetic retention.

• Knife: ESEE James Gibson Pinch, 1.3″ 1095 carbon steel Wharncliffe, black oxide finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.13″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 3.0″ overall, about 1 oz.
• Kit Contents: RAT signal mirror, button compass, fire starter kit, water collection bag, fishing kit, sewing needle, Kevlar cord, and rescue whistle.
• Sheath: Black polymer neck sheath with magnetic retention.
• Carry: Everything packs into an embossed survival tin that fits a pocket or backpack.

Ideal for: hikers and backpackers who want a compact backup survival kit; preppers building out vehicle, bug-out, or everyday carry kits; and ESEE and James Gibson fans who want the Pinch with a ready-made kit.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The black oxide finish helps protect the blade but can wear at contact points, and the edge is bare steel. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled, and keep the tin dry when stored.

What kind of blade and sheath does the Pinch knife have?

The Pinch is a small fixed blade with a 1.3-inch 1095 carbon steel Wharncliffe blade, 0.13 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a black oxide finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It rides in a black polymer neck sheath with magnetic retention.

Who designed the ESEE Pinch?

The Pinch was designed by knifemaker James Gibson for ESEE. It is a compact, thin fixed blade made to carry comfortably around the neck or in a small kit.

How do I carry the Pinch knife?

The Pinch is designed to be worn as a neck knife in its magnetic-retention sheath, or stored in the survival tin with the rest of the kit. Laws on carrying fixed blades, including around the neck, vary by location, so check your local laws before carrying.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?
