ESEE-6 – 6.50″ 1095 Dark Earth Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Tan Micarta Handle – ESEE-6P-DE

The ESEE-6 is a full-size survival knife that balances size, weight, and heft: nimble enough for smaller tasks, with enough weight and edge length for bigger jobs. This version pairs a 6.50″ Dark Earth 1095 drop-point blade with a full plain edge, tan Micarta handle scales, and a black polymer sheath.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for large survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.19″ thick, flat-ground plain edge handles chopping, batoning, and camp work along its full length. Hold the handle further back for more power when chopping, or choke up onto the finger choil for control during precise carving. The tan Micarta scales have a warm, textured feel that grips well in the hand.

• Blade: 6.50″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, Dark Earth finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.19″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 11.75″ overall.
• Handle: Tan Micarta with a finger choil, for a secure grip whether chopping or carving. 5.25″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath included.
• Carry: 12.00 oz.

Ideal for: backcountry campers and hunters who want one full-size knife for chopping and detail work; survival and bushcraft trainees who need a large, tough fixed blade; and outdoor users who prefer an earth-toned blade with a classic Micarta handle.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The Dark Earth finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE-6 Dark Earth and Tan Micarta: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-6 with a plain-edge Dark Earth blade, tan Micarta, and black sheath (ESEE-6P-DE).

What kind of blade and sheath does this ESEE-6 have?

It is a fixed blade with a 6.50-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.19 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a Dark Earth finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

What is included with this ESEE-6?

The knife comes with its black polymer sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

How do I use the ESEE-6 for both chopping and carving?

For chopping, hold the handle further back to put more of the blade’s weight into each swing. For precise carving and detail work, choke up and place your finger in the finger choil just behind the edge for added control.

How is this different from other ESEE-6 versions?

All ESEE-6 models share the same 6.50-inch 1095 blade. This version pairs a Dark Earth blade with tan Micarta. The ESEE-6 3D Handle in Dark Earth, 6PDE-001, uses contoured black G-10 scales, and other standard ESEE-6 versions come with black, Tactical Gray, or Venom Green blades.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so it needs more care than stainless steels. The Dark Earth finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the ESEE-6 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-6 is made in the USA.
