ESEE-4 – 4.50″ 1095 Tactical Gray Part Serrated Drop Point Blade, Black G-10 Handle – ESEE-4S-TG-B

The ESEE-4 is one of ESEE’s most popular survival knives, sized to handle heavy camp work while staying light enough for the trail. This version pairs a 4.50″ Tactical Gray 1095 drop-point blade with a partially serrated edge, black G-10 handle scales, and a black polymer sheath.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.188″ thick blade stock stands up to batoning, while the tall flat grind keeps the plain section thin enough for clean slicing. The serrated section near the handle helps cut through rope, cordage, webbing, and other tough materials, and the black G-10 scales are durable and moisture resistant.

• Blade: 4.50″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, Tactical Gray finish, tall flat grind, partially serrated edge, 0.188″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 9.00″ overall.
• Handle: Black G-10 for a secure, durable grip. 4.50″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath included.
• Carry: 8.00 oz.

Ideal for: hunters and campers who want a mid-size knife that handles both slicing and rope work; bushcrafters and preppers who want serrations on a tough survival blade; and outdoor users who want a subdued gray and black look with a moisture-resistant G-10 handle.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The Tactical Gray finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE-4 Tactical Gray, Partially Serrated: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-4 with a partially serrated Tactical Gray blade, black G-10, and black sheath (ESEE-4S-TG-B).

What kind of blade and sheath does this ESEE-4 have?

It is a fixed blade with a 4.50-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.188 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a Tactical Gray finish, a tall flat grind, and a partially serrated edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

What is included with this ESEE-4?

The knife comes with its black polymer sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

Should I choose a partially serrated or plain edge?

Choose this partially serrated version if you often cut rope, cordage, or webbing, where the serrations grip and saw through fibers. Choose a plain edge for clean slicing and simpler sharpening.

What other Tactical Gray ESEE knives are available?

For a smaller partially serrated knife in Tactical Gray and black G-10, choose the ESEE-3S-TG with a 3.88-inch blade. For a larger one, the ESEE-6S-TG has a 6.50-inch partially serrated Tactical Gray blade with gray Micarta.

How do I sharpen and care for this knife?

Sharpen the plain section as you would any plain edge, and use a tapered ceramic rod on the beveled side of the serrations. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it. The Tactical Gray finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet.

What warranty does the ESEE-4 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-4 is made in the USA.
