ESEE-4 – 4.50″ 1095 OD Green Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Orange G-10 Handle – ESEE-4P-MB-OD

The ESEE-4 is one of ESEE’s most popular survival knives, sized to handle heavy camp work while staying light enough for the trail. This version pairs a 4.50″ OD Green 1095 drop-point blade with a full plain edge, high-visibility orange G-10 handle scales, and a black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.188″ thick blade stock stands up to batoning, while the tall flat grind keeps the edge thin enough for clean slicing in camp and when processing game. The orange G-10 scales are durable, moisture resistant, and easy to spot if you set the knife down in the field.

• Blade: 4.50″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, OD Green finish, tall flat grind, plain edge, 0.188″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 9.00″ overall.
• Handle: Orange G-10 for a secure, high-visibility grip. 4.50″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.
• Carry: 8.00 oz, mounts on a belt, pack, or MOLLE gear.

Ideal for: hunters and campers who want a mid-size knife for batoning and slicing; preppers and outdoor users who want MOLLE-compatible mounting on a pack or vest; and anyone who wants a high-visibility handle that is easy to find.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE-4 OD Green and Orange, Plain Edge, MOLLE-Back Sheath: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-4 with a plain-edge OD Green blade, orange G-10, and black MOLLE-back sheath (ESEE-4P-MB-OD).

What kind of blade and sheath does this ESEE-4 have?

It is a fixed blade with a 4.50-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.188 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with an OD Green finish, a tall flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.

What is included with this ESEE-4?

The knife comes with its black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What does the MOLLE back on the sheath do?

A MOLLE back lets you mount the sheath to the webbing found on many packs, vests, and tactical gear, in addition to belt carry. That gives you more options for where the knife rides.

How is this different from other ESEE-4 versions?

All ESEE-4 models share the same 4.50-inch 1095 blade and tall flat grind. This version pairs a plain-edge OD Green blade and orange G-10 with a black MOLLE-back sheath. The ESEE-4P-OD has the same knife with a standard black sheath, and the ESEE-4S-MB-OD adds a partially serrated edge. For a smaller knife in this colorway, choose the ESEE-3P-MB-OD.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so it needs more care than stainless steels. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the ESEE-4 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-4 is made in the USA.
