ESEE-4 3D Handle – 4.50″ 1095 Orange Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Orange and Black 3D G-10 Handle – ESEE-4POR-006

The ESEE-4 is one of ESEE’s most popular survival knives, sized to handle heavy camp work while staying light enough for the trail. This 3D Handle version pairs a 4.50″ orange-coated 1095 drop-point blade with contoured orange and black G-10 scales and a black polymer sheath.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.188″ thick blade stock stands up to batoning, while the tall flat grind keeps the edge thin enough for clean slicing in camp and when processing game. The 3D handle uses contoured G-10 scales shaped to fill the hand rather than flat slabs, and the orange color makes the knife easy to spot if you set it down.

• Blade: 4.50″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, orange finish, tall flat grind, plain edge, 0.188″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 9.0″ overall.
• Handle: 3D-contoured orange and black G-10 for a secure, high-visibility grip. 4.50″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath included.
• Carry: 8.00 oz.

Ideal for: hunters and campers who want a mid-size knife for batoning and slicing; bushcrafters and preppers who want a tough survival blade larger than the ESEE-3; and outdoor users who want a high-visibility handle that is easy to find.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The orange finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

How does the ESEE-4 compare to the ESEE-3?

The ESEE-4 is the larger, heavier-duty sibling. It has a 4.50-inch blade at 0.188 inch thick, compared with the ESEE-3’s 3.88-inch blade at 0.125 inch thick, which gives it more reach and strength for batoning and heavier camp work.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?
