ESEE-3 – 3.88″ 1095 OD Green Part Serrated Drop Point Blade, Orange G-10 Handle – ESEE-3S-MB-OD

The ESEE-3 is an all-purpose outdoor, bushcraft, and survival fixed blade, built to be tough while staying compact and lightweight. This version pairs a 3.88″ OD Green 1095 drop-point blade with a partially serrated edge, high-visibility orange G-10 handle scales, and a black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.

1095 carbon steel is a classic outdoor steel: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and dependable under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.125″ thick, flat-ground blade slices thin for processing game and making tinder, while the serrated section near the handle helps cut through rope, cordage, webbing, and other tough materials. The orange G-10 scales are durable, moisture resistant, and easy to spot in the field.

• Blade: 3.88″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, OD Green finish, flat grind, partially serrated edge, 0.125″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 8.31″ overall.
• Handle: Orange G-10 for a secure, high-visibility grip. 4.43″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.
• Carry: 5.2 oz, mounts on a belt, pack, or MOLLE gear.

Ideal for: bushcrafters and survival trainees who want serrations for rope and cordage on a compact fixed blade; hunters who want a high-visibility handle that is easy to find; and outdoor users who want MOLLE-compatible mounting on a pack or vest.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE-3 OD Green and Orange, Partially Serrated: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-3 with a partially serrated OD Green blade, orange G-10, and black MOLLE-back sheath (ESEE-3S-MB-OD).

What kind of blade and sheath does this ESEE-3 have?

It is a fixed blade with a 3.88-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.125 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with an OD Green finish, a flat grind, and a partially serrated edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.

What is included with this ESEE-3?

The knife comes with its black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What does the MOLLE back on the sheath do?

A MOLLE back lets you mount the sheath to the webbing found on many packs, vests, and tactical gear, in addition to belt carry. That gives you more options for where the knife rides.

How is this different from other OD Green and orange ESEE-3 versions?

This version pairs a partially serrated blade with the standard pommel and a black MOLLE-back sheath. The ESEE-3P-MB-OD has a full plain edge, the ESEE-3SM-OD adds the modified pommel, and the ESEE-3S-KO-OD is the same knife sold without a sheath.

How do I sharpen and care for this knife?

Sharpen the plain section as you would any plain edge, and use a tapered ceramic rod on the beveled side of the serrations. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet.

What warranty does the ESEE-3 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-3 is made in the USA.
