ESEE-3 – 3.88″ 1095 Desert Tan Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Tan Micarta Handle (Knife Only) – ESEE-3P-DT-KO

The ESEE-3 is an all-purpose outdoor, bushcraft, and survival fixed blade, built to be tough while staying compact and lightweight. This knife-only version pairs a 3.88″ Desert Tan 1095 drop-point blade with a full plain edge and tan Micarta handle scales. No sheath is included.

1095 carbon steel is a classic outdoor steel: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and dependable under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.125″ thick, flat-ground blade slices thin for processing game and making tinder, and the full plain edge makes sharpening simple. The tan Micarta scales have a warm, textured feel that grips well in the hand.

• Blade: 3.88″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, Desert Tan finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.125″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 8.31″ overall.
• Handle: Tan Micarta for a secure, natural grip. 4.43″ handle length.
• Sheath: None. This is a knife-only listing.
• Carry: 5.2 oz. Pair it with a sheath made for the standard ESEE-3.

Ideal for: ESEE-3 owners who already have a sheath they want to use; buyers planning a custom Kydex or leather sheath; and anyone who wants a spare Desert Tan ESEE-3 for a second kit.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The Desert Tan finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled, and store it safely until it has a sheath.

Knife only; no sheath included.

ESEE-3 Knife Only, Desert Tan, Plain Edge: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-3 Knife Only with a plain-edge Desert Tan blade and tan Micarta (ESEE-3P-DT-KO).

What kind of blade does this ESEE-3 have?

It is a fixed blade with a 3.88-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.125 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a Desert Tan finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes without a sheath.

What is included with the ESEE-3 Knife Only?

This listing includes the knife only. No sheath is included. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What sheath should I use with this knife?

Use a sheath made for the standard ESEE-3, such as the ESEE-3 Complete Sheath System, ESEE-20SS, or have a custom Kydex or leather sheath made for it. Sheaths for the ESEE-3HM and the ESEE-3 3D Handle versions may not fit, because their handles differ.

Can I buy this knife with a sheath?

Yes. The same plain-edge Desert Tan blade and tan Micarta handle come with an OD Green sheath as the ESEE-3P-DT, or with an OD Green MOLLE-back sheath as the ESEE-3P-MB-DT. For a partially serrated edge without a sheath, choose the ESEE-3S-KO-DT.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so it needs more care than stainless steels. The Desert Tan finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the ESEE-3 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-3 is made in the USA.
