Cold Steel Natchez Bowie – Black Micarta (11.5″ 4034 SS) CS39LMB4

The Cold Steel Natchez Bowie is a knife that exemplifies excellence in materials and craftsmanship. Designed for both performance and durability, it features a robust construction that ensures it stands out among similar products.

Blade and Steel Composition

At the heart of the Natchez Bowie is its blade, crafted from 4034 stainless steel (SS). This particular type of steel is known for its strength and resistance to wear and corrosion, making it an excellent choice for a knife that is meant to withstand rigorous use. The blade’s length of 11.5 inches provides ample cutting surface, making it versatile for various tasks.

Handle Design

The handle of the Natchez Bowie is equally impressive, crafted from black linen Micarta. This material is both durable and comfortable, capable of withstanding the elements while providing a firm grip. The handle is complemented by a double quillion guard, bolster, and pommel, all made of highly polished 300 series stainless steel. This not only enhances the knife’s aesthetic appeal but also contributes to its functionality, allowing for a secure grip and facilitating a variety of gripping methods.

Protective Sheath

Each Natchez Bowie comes with a Secure-Ex sheath. This sheath is designed to protect the blade from damage and ensure safety during transport. It allows the knife to be worn securely on your side, ready for use when needed. The sheath’s design ensures that you can carry the knife comfortably and discreetly, providing peace of mind and readiness.

Historical Inspiration

The name “Natchez Bowie” pays homage to the colorful history of Natchez, Mississippi. Specifically, it evokes the spirit of the “Under-The Hill” district — a notoriously lively riverfront area known for its rowdiness at the beginning of the nineteenth century. This area was so infamous that it was rarely spoken of in the refined drawing rooms of the antebellum mansions that populated the other side of town during the cotton era. This historical connection adds a layer of intrigue and character to the knife, making it not just a tool, but a piece of storytelling.

In summary, the Cold Steel Natchez Bowie combines high-grade materials and expert craftsmanship to deliver a knife that is both a reliable tool and a nod to a rich historical past. Whether for practical use or collection, it stands as a testament to quality and tradition.
