Cobratec Trapper – D2 Drop Point Plain Edge Blade, Imitation White Bone Handle, Hidden Bolster Release – CTTHRPBWT

The CobraTec Trapper Hidden Release CTTHRPBWT puts a modern automatic action inside a classic trapper: CobraTec’s patented hidden bolster release deploys a 3.125″ D2 drop point blade from a white bone handle with steel bolsters.

The blade is D2, a high-carbon tool steel known for strong wear resistance and edge retention, finished in satin. There is no visible button: push the steel bolster up to deploy the blade, and push it up again to release the lock. The white bone handle and steel bolsters keep the traditional trapper look, while the hidden release adds automatic action.

• Blade: 3.125″ D2 drop point, satin finish, plain edge, 0.12″ thick.
• Handle: White bone with steel bolsters; 0.5″ thick.
• Deployment + Lock: Automatic; patented hidden bolster release deploys the blade and releases the lock.
• Carry: 4.25″ closed, 7.375″ overall, 3.9 oz; pocket clip for tip-up, right-side carry.

Ideal for: traditional pocketknife fans who want automatic action, CobraTec collectors, and buyers who want a discreet automatic with a classic look, where legal.

D2 is not fully stainless: keep it dry and lightly oiled. Because bone is a natural material, color and grain vary from knife to knife.

CobraTec Trapper Hidden Release CTTHRPBWT: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the CobraTec Trapper Hidden Release automatic with D2 blade and white bone handle (CTTHRPBWT).

Is the CobraTec Trapper Hidden Release legal where I live?

⚠️ Automatic knife laws vary by state and locality. Buyers are responsible for knowing and following the laws where they live and travel. See akti.org for state-by-state information.

How does the hidden bolster release work?

Push the steel bolster up to deploy the blade, and push it up again to release the lock so you can close the blade. There is no visible button, which keeps the traditional trapper look. Keep your fingers clear of the blade path when deploying.

What is D2 steel, and how do I care for it?

D2 is a high-carbon tool steel known for strong wear resistance and edge retention. It has more chromium than plain carbon steels but is not fully stainless, so it can stain or rust if left wet. Wipe the blade clean and dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

How does the Trapper carry?

It has a pocket clip set for tip-up, right-side carry. At 4.25″ closed and 3.9 oz, it carries like a traditional trapper. No sheath is included.

Will the bone handle look exactly like the photo?

Not exactly. The handle is bone with steel bolsters, and because bone is a natural material, color and grain vary slightly from knife to knife.

Where is the Trapper made, and what is the warranty?

CobraTec makes the Trapper Hidden Release in the USA. CobraTec’s Lifetime Warranty provides free professional sharpening and maintenance for the life of the knife. It does not cover loss, damage caused by abuse or neglect, accidents, improper blade sharpening or disassembly, or normal paint wear. CobraTec’s warranty page refers to its OTF knives, so contact CobraTec to confirm coverage for your model.
