Candiru Survival Kit – 2.00″ 1095 OD Green Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, OD Green Skeletonized Handle – ESEE-CAN-OD-KIT

The ESEE Candiru Survival Kit pairs the ultra-compact Candiru fixed blade with a set of essential carry and survival accessories. This OD Green version includes a 2.00″ 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, a skeletonized steel handle, an injection-molded black polymer sheath, and a kit with paracord, a ferro rod, and an emergency whistle, with the knife itself weighing just 1.7 oz.

1095 carbon steel is a proven choice for hard-use field knives: it’s tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and takes a keen working edge. This blade is hardened to 55-57 HRC and ground with a flat grind and plain edge for clean slicing. The OD Green finish gives the Candiru a classic field look, keeps glare low, and helps protect the carbon steel. The included accessories make it a grab-and-go setup, with a ferro rod for fire, a whistle for signaling, and paracord, a cord lock, split rings, and a snap hook for rigging the knife to suit how you carry it.

• Blade: 2.00″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, OD Green finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.125″ thick, 55-57 HRC.

• Kit Accessories: Paracord, cord lock, large and small split rings, ferro fire starting rod, emergency whistle, and plastic snap hook.

ESEE Candiru Survival Kit OD Green: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE Candiru Survival Kit with an OD Green 1095 carbon steel blade, skeletonized steel handle, and survival accessories (ESEE-CAN-OD-KIT).

What comes in the Candiru Survival Kit?

The kit includes the ESEE Candiru knife in OD Green with an injection-molded black polymer sheath, plus paracord, a cord lock, a large split ring, a small split ring, a ferro fire starting rod, an emergency whistle, and a plastic snap hook. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What kind of blade does the Candiru have?

It has a 2.00-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.125 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with an OD Green finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. The knife measures 5.13 inches overall with a 3.13-inch skeletonized steel handle and weighs 1.7 ounces.

How can I carry the Candiru?

The Candiru is small enough to carry in a pocket, on a belt, in a boot, or around the neck. The included paracord, cord lock, split rings, and snap hook give you options for setting up the sheath for neck carry or attaching it to a pack or other gear.

How is this different from the other Candiru options?

The knife and accessories are the same across the Candiru Survival Kits; the difference is color. This kit is OD Green, and the same kit is also available in Dark Earth (ESEE-CAN-DE-KIT) and Desert Tan (ESEE-CAN-DT-KIT). Standalone Candirus, such as the Dark Earth (ESEE-CAN-DE-E) or Purple (ESEE-CAN-PURP-E) version, include only the knife and sheath. For a much larger kit with fire, water, navigation, signaling, and food gear in a tin, choose the ESEE Mess Tin Kit (LARGE-TIN-KIT-OR).

How do I care for the 1095 carbon steel blade?

1095 is a carbon steel, not a stainless steel, so it can rust if left wet. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the sharpened edge and any worn spots are bare steel. Wipe the knife clean and dry after use, especially after cutting food or exposure to moisture, and apply a light coat of oil before storage.
