Candiru – 2.00″ 1095 Purple Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Purple Skeletonized Handle – ESEE-CAN-PURP-BLK

The ESEE Candiru is an ultra-compact fixed blade built as a last-ditch survival and backup knife. This version pairs a 2.00″ Purple 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade and matching skeletonized steel handle with a classic injection-molded black polymer sheath, at just 1.7 oz and 5.13″ overall.

1095 carbon steel is a proven choice for hard-use field knives: it’s tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and takes a keen working edge. This blade is hardened to 55-57 HRC and ground with a flat grind and plain edge for clean slicing. The Purple finish gives the Candiru a bold, easy-to-spot look while helping protect the carbon steel, and the black sheath keeps the carry setup understated. The skeletonized steel handle keeps weight to a minimum so the knife disappears wherever you carry it.

• Blade: 2.00″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, Purple finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.125″ thick, 55-57 HRC.
• Handle: Skeletonized steel with a Purple finish. 3.13″ handle length.
• Construction: Fixed blade with no moving parts, lock, or folding mechanism.
• Carry: 1.7 oz, 5.13″ overall, with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

Ideal for: carriers who want a bold Purple knife with a low-key black sheath; hikers and campers who want a backup blade that’s easy to spot if set down outdoors; and ESEE collectors adding another Candiru color combination to their lineup.

ESEE Candiru 1095 Purple with Black Sheath: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE Candiru ultra-compact fixed blade with a Purple 1095 carbon steel blade, Purple skeletonized steel handle, and black sheath (ESEE-CAN-PURP-BLK).

What size is the Candiru?

The Candiru is 5.13 inches overall, with a 2.00-inch blade and a 3.13-inch skeletonized steel handle, and weighs just 1.7 ounces. It’s small enough to carry in a pocket, on a belt, in a boot, or around the neck.

What kind of blade does the Candiru have?

It has a 2.00-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.125 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a Purple finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge.

What is included with the Candiru?

The knife comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

How is this different from the other Purple Candirus?

The knife is the same Purple 1095 Candiru; the difference is the sheath. This version comes with a black sheath, while the other standalone Purple Candiru (ESEE-CAN-PURP-E) comes with a clear white sheath. For a Purple Candiru with a white sheath plus paracord, a ferro rod, a whistle, and carry hardware, choose the Candiru Survival Kit (ESEE-CAN-PURP-KIT). The Candiru is also available in Black (ESEE-CAN-B-E), OD Green (ESEE-CAN-OD-E), Dark Earth (ESEE-CAN-DE-E), and Desert Tan (ESEE-CAN-DT-E).

How do I care for the 1095 carbon steel blade?

1095 is a carbon steel, not a stainless steel, so it can rust if left wet. The Purple finish helps protect the blade, but the sharpened edge and any worn spots are bare steel. Wipe the knife clean and dry after use, especially after cutting food or exposure to moisture, and apply a light coat of oil before storage.

Who provides the warranty, and where is it made?

Contact ESEE for current warranty terms and service. The Candiru is made in the USA.
