Candiru – 2.00″ 1095 OD Green Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, OD Green Skeletonized Handle – ESEE-CAN-OD-E

The ESEE Candiru is an ultra-compact fixed blade built as a last-ditch survival and backup knife. This OD Green version pairs a 2.00″ 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade with a matching skeletonized steel handle and an injection-molded black polymer sheath, at just 1.7 oz and 5.13″ overall.

1095 carbon steel is a proven choice for hard-use field knives: it’s tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and takes a keen working edge. This blade is hardened to 55-57 HRC and ground with a flat grind and plain edge for clean slicing. The OD Green finish gives the Candiru a classic field look, keeps glare low, and helps protect the carbon steel, while the skeletonized steel handle keeps weight to a minimum so the knife disappears wherever you carry it.

• Blade: 2.00″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, OD Green finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.125″ thick, 55-57 HRC.
• Handle: Skeletonized steel with an OD Green finish. 3.13″ handle length.
• Construction: Fixed blade with no moving parts, lock, or folding mechanism.
• Carry: 1.7 oz, 5.13″ overall, with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.

Ideal for: hikers, hunters, and preparedness-minded carriers who want a backup blade that adds almost no weight; outdoor users who want a classic OD Green knife that blends with field gear; and everyday carriers who want a tiny fixed blade for pocket, belt, boot, or neck carry.

ESEE Candiru 1095 OD Green: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE Candiru ultra-compact fixed blade with an OD Green 1095 carbon steel blade and OD Green skeletonized steel handle (ESEE-CAN-OD-E).

What size is the Candiru?

The Candiru is 5.13 inches overall, with a 2.00-inch blade and a 3.13-inch skeletonized steel handle, and weighs just 1.7 ounces. It’s small enough to carry in a pocket, on a belt, in a boot, or around the neck.

What kind of blade does the Candiru have?

It has a 2.00-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.125 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with an OD Green finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge.

What is included with the Candiru?

The knife comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

How is this different from the other Candiru options?

The standalone Candirus share the same 2.00-inch 1095 blade, skeletonized steel handle, and 1.7-ounce weight; the difference is color. This version is OD Green, and the Candiru is also available in Dark Earth (ESEE-CAN-DE-E) and Purple (ESEE-CAN-PURP-E). For the same OD Green knife plus paracord, a ferro rod, a whistle, and carry hardware, choose the Candiru Survival Kit (ESEE-CAN-OD-KIT).

How do I care for the 1095 carbon steel blade?

1095 is a carbon steel, not a stainless steel, so it can rust if left wet. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the sharpened edge and any worn spots are bare steel. Wipe the knife clean and dry after use, especially after cutting food or exposure to moisture, and apply a light coat of oil before storage.

Who provides the warranty, and where is it made?

Contact ESEE for current warranty terms and service. The Candiru is made in the USA.
