BRK Zancudo Auto – 3″ Sandvik 14C28N Stonewashed Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Black G-10 Handle, Crossbar Lock – BRKR3

⚠️ Automatic knife legal notice: This is an automatic (switchblade) knife. Automatic knives are restricted or prohibited in many states and municipalities, and the federal Switchblade Act restricts their interstate shipment. It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to verify and comply with all federal, state, and local laws before purchasing. For current state-by-state information, visit akti.org. Orders to jurisdictions where automatic knives are restricted cannot be fulfilled.

The Zancudo, Spanish for “mosquito,” is a compact Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin design from ESEE, offered here as an automatic under the BRK name. This version pairs a 3″ stonewashed 14C28N stainless drop-point blade with black G-10 handle scales and a crossbar lock in a light, pocket-friendly 3.80 oz package.

14C28N stainless steel is a fine-grained stainless known for taking a keen edge, sharpening easily, and resisting corrosion, which makes it a practical choice for everyday cutting. The flat-ground plain edge slices cleanly, the stonewash finish helps hide scratches from daily use, and the black G-10 scales are durable and grippy.

• Blade: 3″ 14C28N stainless steel drop point, stonewash finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.09″ thick.
• Handle: Black G-10, 0.35″ thick.
• Deployment + Lock: Automatic opening; crossbar lock.
• Carry: 3.80 oz, 4.0″ closed, 7.0″ open, with a tip-up, right-hand carry pocket clip.

Ideal for: everyday carriers in jurisdictions where automatic knives are legal who want a compact, lightweight auto; collectors of ESEE designs; and buyers who want a smaller companion to the BRK Avispa Auto.

BRK Zancudo Auto: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the BRK Zancudo Auto with a stonewashed 14C28N blade, black G-10 handle, and crossbar lock (BRKR3).

Is the Zancudo Auto legal where I live?

It depends on where you live. Automatic (switchblade) knives are restricted or prohibited in many states and municipalities, and the federal Switchblade Act restricts their interstate shipment. It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to verify and comply with all federal, state, and local laws before purchasing. For current state-by-state information, visit akti.org. Orders to jurisdictions where automatic knives are restricted cannot be fulfilled.

What kind of lock does the Zancudo Auto use?

It uses a crossbar lock. A spring-loaded bar moves across the handle behind the blade to hold it securely open. To close the knife, retract the crossbar and fold the blade closed, keeping your fingers clear of the blade’s path.

What kind of blade does the Zancudo Auto have?

It has a 3-inch 14C28N stainless steel drop-point blade, 0.09 inch thick, with a stonewash finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It opens automatically.

How does it compare to the BRK Avispa Auto?

Both are ESEE designs with 14C28N blades, black G-10 handles, and crossbar locks. The Zancudo Auto is the compact option, with a 3-inch blade, 4.0-inch closed length, and 3.80 oz weight. The Avispa Auto, BRK1304, is larger, with a 3.5-inch blade and 5.0-inch closed length at 5.40 oz.

What is included, and how do I care for the blade?

The knife comes with its pocket clip installed for tip-up, right-hand carry. No sheath is included, and contents are subject to change by the manufacturer. 14C28N resists corrosion but is not rustproof, so wipe the blade clean and dry after use and keep the action free of lint and debris so the automatic mechanism opens reliably.

Who provides the warranty, and where is it made?

Contact the manufacturer for current warranty terms and service. Origin is listed in the product specifications on this page.
