Heretic Knives Manticore E OTF – 3.12″ Stonewash CPM MagnaCut Double Edge Blade, Black Aluminum Handle – H028F-2A

The Heretic Knives Manticore E OTF H028F-2A is an out-the-front automatic built around a 3.12-inch double edge CPM MagnaCut blade in a stonewash finish, set in a black aluminum handle, for buyers who want a symmetrical, thrust-oriented dagger blade in a push-button OTF platform.

CPM MagnaCut is Crucible’s stainless steel engineered specifically for knife blades by metallurgist Larrin Thomas, rather than optimizing for one property, MagnaCut is formulated to deliver strong edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness simultaneously, closing the gap that usually forces a tradeoff between the three. Its balanced carbide structure keeps it easier to sharpen than extreme high-vanadium steels like CPM-S90V, while still outperforming older workhorse stainless steels like D2, 154CM, and CPM-S30V on corrosion resistance and edge stability.

The double edge grind on this Manticore E sharpens both sides of the blade to a point rather than the single-edge-plus-spine layout of a standard drop point or tanto, a dagger grind is built around thrust geometry and symmetry rather than general utility slicing, and in most jurisdictions double edge knives carry additional legal restrictions beyond standard single-edge automatics.

The stonewash finish is a tumbled, matte surface treatment that hides fingerprints and light scratches better than a polished satin finish, applied over the same CPM MagnaCut blade regardless of finish, so the color and texture change without changing the steel’s performance.

The out-the-front mechanism fires the blade straight out of the front of the handle at the push of a button and retracts it the same way, no manual flip, thumb stud, or disengage step required.

• Blade: 3.12″ CPM MagnaCut double edge (dagger) blade, stonewash finish, balanced edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness; symmetrical thrust-oriented grind rather than a single-edge utility profile.
• Handle: Black aluminum, handle texture not confirmed this session, verify against hereticknives.com.
• Deployment: Out-the-front (OTF) automatic, push-button fire and retract, no manual disengage step; fully enclosed blade when closed.
• Carry: 3.12-inch double edge blade platform, overall length, closed length, and weight not confirmed this session, verify against hereticknives.com before publishing.

Buyers who specifically want a double edge (dagger) blade rather than a single-edge utility profile, and who have confirmed their local laws permit double edge automatics.
CPM MagnaCut buyers who want strong all-around performance, edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness, without the sharpening difficulty of extreme high-vanadium stainless steels.
Collectors building out a Heretic Manticore lineup who want the black aluminum, double edge configuration alongside the brand’s recurve and Cel Shade options.

CPM MagnaCut’s balanced edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness in a push-button OTF platform, ground as a symmetrical double edge dagger with a stonewash finish over a black aluminum handle, the Heretic Knives Manticore E OTF H028F-2A is built for buyers who want a dedicated thrust-oriented automatic.
