Muela Sherpa 18C – 7.20″ X50CrMoV15 Stainless Satin Plain Edge Blade, Brown Micarta Handle – 02MU206

When the terrain gets serious and the work gets heavy, a knife that compromises on size, steel, or construction is a liability. The Muela Sherpa 02MU206 is built without those compromises — a 7.20″ full-tang fixed blade in X50CrMoV15 stainless steel with ergonomic brown Micarta scales, designed specifically for the kind of demanding outdoor and bushcraft work where a knife needs to perform for hours, not minutes.

The Sherpa is built from a single continuous piece of steel — full-tang construction running uninterrupted through the handle, providing the structural foundation a large working knife demands when batoning, chopping, prying, and sustained cutting put real loads on the blade-to-handle junction. The blade is ground from X50CrMoV15 stainless steel — a high-alloy German stainless steel widely used in premium European hunting and outdoor knives. The “X50″ designation indicates approximately 0.50% carbon content, while the chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium additions deliver a well-rounded performance profile: solid corrosion resistance for wet wilderness environments, respectable edge retention for sustained cutting tasks, and a sharpenability profile that responds well to standard field stones and ceramic rods. At 0.18” blade thickness — the heaviest stock of the three Muela models in this lineup — the Sherpa’s geometry is engineered for durability under impact and lateral stress, not just slicing efficiency. The satin finish reduces glare in the field and keeps the uncoated steel easy to maintain.
