Muela Rhino – 9.72″ X50CrMoV15 Stainless Satin Plain Edge Blade, Stag Horn Handle with Stainless Steel Guard – 02MU220

When the task is serious and the terrain is demanding, the knife needs to match the moment. The Muela Rhino RHINO-25A is a purpose-built large-format Bowie fixed blade — 9.72″ of X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, full-tang construction, stainless steel guard, and hand-selected stag horn handle scales — built for the field work that puts real demands on a knife and the hunters who carry one. No frills, no compromises. Just a serious Bowie built to perform in demanding conditions.

The Rhino is built full-tang — one continuous piece of steel from blade tip through handle — providing the structural integrity that a 9.72″ working Bowie requires under sustained field loads. The blade is ground from X50CrMoV15 stainless steel — Muela’s high-alloy stainless whose chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium additions deliver reliable corrosion resistance for wet field environments, solid edge retention under the cutting demands of large game processing, and sharpenability that responds well to ceramic rods and field stones without requiring specialized equipment. At 0.18″ blade thickness — consistent with the heavier-duty Muela fixed blades in this lineup — the Rhino’s geometry is built for durability and stability under sustained use rather than ultra-thin slicing efficiency. At 17.64 oz and 14.76″ overall, this is a large knife with presence that matches its name — designed to handle the full range of big-game field tasks from initial processing through sustained camp work without asking for a tool change. The Bowie clip-point profile delivers the cutting belly and tip geometry that big-game hunters have relied on for demanding field work for generations. The stainless steel guard provides both hand protection and a clean, durable complement to the stag horn handle scales — hand-selected for grip character and the natural texture that no synthetic material replicates.

Ideal For

The Muela Rhino 02MU220 is purpose-built for big-game hunters and serious field users who need a large-format Bowie fixed blade with the blade length, stock thickness, and construction quality to handle demanding field work — full game processing sequences, sustained camp tasks, and the kinds of hard use where a smaller knife reaches its limits. It is equally well-suited for hunters and collectors who value traditional Spanish craftsmanship in a no-nonsense working format — the combination of X50CrMoV15 stainless, hand-selected stag horn, and stainless guard delivers Muela’s field-proven construction standard in a blade size and weight that commands respect without the decorative elements of the Trophy Series.
