Junglas – 10.38″ 1095 Black Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Tan Micarta Handle (Knife Only) – JUNGLAS-KO

The ESEE Junglas (pronounced “Hoonglas”) blends a hard-use fixed blade with the reach and efficiency of a machete. This knife-only version pairs a 10.38″ black 1095 blade with tan Micarta handle scales. No sheath is included.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for large blades: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under heavy chopping. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. ESEE says designers Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin developed the Junglas for Colombia’s Jungla Special Operations Commandos, who needed a tough blade for clearing dense jungle vegetation. The 0.19″ thick, flat-ground blade gives you a machete’s reach for clearing brush with the strength of a heavy fixed blade, and the 6.12″ Micarta handle offers room for a full grip.

• Blade: 10.38″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, black finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.19″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 16.50″ overall.
• Handle: Tan Micarta scales. 6.12″ handle length.
• Sheath: None. This is a knife-only listing.
• Carry: 23.00 oz. Pair it with a sheath made for the full-size Junglas.

Ideal for: Junglas owners who already have a sheath they want to use; buyers planning a custom Kydex or leather sheath; and anyone who wants a spare knife-machete for a vehicle, camp, or second kit.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The black finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled, and store it safely until it has a sheath.

Knife only; no sheath included.

ESEE Junglas Knife Only: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE Junglas Knife Only with a black 1095 blade and tan Micarta (JUNGLAS-KO).

What kind of blade does the Junglas have?

It is a fixed blade with a 10.38-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.19 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a black finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes without a sheath.

What is included with the Junglas Knife Only?

This listing includes the knife only. No sheath is included. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What sheath should I use with this knife?

Use a sheath made for the full-size Junglas, or have a custom Kydex or leather sheath made for it. Sheaths for the Junglas II will not fit, because the Junglas II blade is 2 inches shorter.

Can I buy this knife with a sheath?

Yes. The same black blade and tan Micarta handle come with a black Kydex MOLLE-back sheath as the JUNGLAS-E. For a smaller, more packable version with a sheath, choose the Junglas II, JUNGLAS-II-E.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so it needs more care than stainless steels. The black finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the blade dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the Junglas have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The Junglas is made in the USA.
