Junglas II – 8.38″ 1095 Black Plain Edge Drop Point Blade, Tan Micarta Handle – JUNGLAS-II-E

The ESEE Junglas II is the compact version of ESEE’s large Junglas knife-machete hybrid, created after customers asked for a smaller option. It keeps the original Junglas handle design with a shorter 8.38″ black 1095 blade, tan Micarta handle scales, and a black Kydex sheath, making it lighter and easier to pack.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for large blades: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under heavy chopping. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.19″ thick, flat-ground blade gives you reach for clearing brush and the strength of a heavy fixed blade for chopping and camp work, while the shorter length makes it easier to carry on a pack or in a vehicle. The 6.12″ Micarta handle offers room for a full grip.

• Blade: 8.38″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, black finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.19″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 14.50″ overall.
• Handle: Tan Micarta scales, the same design as the original Junglas. 6.12″ handle length.
• Sheath: Black Kydex sheath included.
• Carry: 19.8 oz.

Ideal for: backpackers and campers who want a large chopper that still fits a pack; landowners who clear brush and light vegetation; and Junglas fans who want the same handle in a lighter, more compact size.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The black finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE Junglas II: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE Junglas II with a black 1095 blade, tan Micarta, and black Kydex sheath (JUNGLAS-II-E).

What kind of blade and sheath does the Junglas II have?

It is a fixed blade with an 8.38-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.19 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a black finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes with a black Kydex sheath.

What is included with the Junglas II?

The knife comes with its black Kydex sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

How is the Junglas II different from the original Junglas?

The Junglas II uses the same handle design as the original Junglas with a shorter blade: 8.38 inches instead of 10.38 inches, at 14.50 inches overall and 19.8 oz. That makes it lighter and easier to pack, while the full-size Junglas offers more reach for clearing brush.

What is the Junglas II good for?

It sits between a large camp knife and a machete. The 8.38-inch blade handles chopping, clearing light brush, and camp work, while the full-size Micarta handle gives you a secure grip for heavier tasks.

Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?

It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so it needs more care than stainless steels. The black finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the blade dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.

What warranty does the Junglas II have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The Junglas II is made in the USA.
