ESEE-6 – 6.50″ 1095 Black Part Serrated Drop Point Blade, Gray Micarta Handle – ESEE-6S-B

The ESEE-6 is a full-size survival knife that balances size, weight, and heft: nimble enough for smaller tasks, with enough weight and edge length for bigger jobs. This version pairs a 6.50″ black-coated 1095 drop-point blade with a partially serrated edge, gray Micarta handle scales, and a black polymer belt sheath.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for large survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.19″ thick, flat-ground blade handles chopping, batoning, and camp work, while the serrated section near the handle helps cut through rope, cordage, and webbing. Hold the handle further back for more power when chopping, or choke up onto the finger choil for control during precise carving.

• Blade: 6.50″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, black finish, flat grind, partially serrated edge, 0.19″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 11.75″ overall.
• Handle: Gray Micarta with a finger choil, for a secure grip whether chopping or carving. 5.25″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer belt sheath included.
• Carry: 12.00 oz.

Ideal for: backcountry campers and hunters who want one full-size knife for chopping, detail work, and rope work; survival and bushcraft trainees who need a large, tough fixed blade; and buyers who want a low-profile black blade and sheath.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The black finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE-6 Partially Serrated, Black Sheath: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-6 with a partially serrated black blade, gray Micarta, and black sheath (ESEE-6S-B).

What kind of blade and sheath does this ESEE-6 have?

It is a fixed blade with a 6.50-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.19 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with a black finish, a flat grind, and a partially serrated edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer belt sheath.

What is included with this ESEE-6?

The knife comes with its black polymer belt sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

How do I use the ESEE-6 for both chopping and carving?

For chopping, hold the handle further back to put more of the blade’s weight into each swing. For precise carving and detail work, choke up and place your finger in the finger choil just behind the edge for added control.

How is this different from other ESEE-6 versions?

All ESEE-6 models share the same 6.50-inch 1095 blade. This version pairs a partially serrated black blade and gray Micarta with a black sheath. The ESEE-6S-OD has the same knife with an OD Green sheath, the ESEE-6S has the same partially serrated blade and gray Micarta, and the ESEE-6P has a full plain edge.

How do I sharpen and care for this knife?

Sharpen the plain section as you would any plain edge, and use a tapered ceramic rod on the beveled side of the serrations. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it. The black finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet.

What warranty does the ESEE-6 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-6 is made in the USA.
