ESEE-4 – 4.50″ 1095 OD Green Part Serrated Drop Point Blade, Orange G-10 Handle – ESEE-4S-MB-OD

The ESEE-4 is one of ESEE’s most popular survival knives, sized to handle heavy camp work while staying light enough for the trail. This version pairs a 4.50″ OD Green 1095 drop-point blade with a partially serrated edge, high-visibility orange G-10 handle scales, and a black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.

1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.188″ thick blade stock stands up to batoning, while the tall flat grind keeps the plain section thin enough for clean slicing. The serrated section near the handle helps cut through rope, cordage, webbing, and other tough materials, and the orange G-10 is easy to spot in the field.

• Blade: 4.50″ 1095 carbon steel drop point, OD Green finish, tall flat grind, partially serrated edge, 0.188″ thick, 55-57 HRC. 9.00″ overall.
• Handle: Orange G-10 for a secure, high-visibility grip. 4.50″ handle length.
• Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.
• Carry: 8.00 oz, mounts on a belt, pack, or MOLLE gear.

Ideal for: hunters and campers who want a mid-size knife that handles both slicing and rope work; preppers and outdoor users who want MOLLE-compatible mounting on a pack or vest; and anyone who wants a high-visibility handle that is easy to find.

Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

ESEE-4 OD Green and Orange, Partially Serrated: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the ESEE-4 with a partially serrated OD Green blade, orange G-10, and black MOLLE-back sheath (ESEE-4S-MB-OD).

What kind of blade and sheath does this ESEE-4 have?

It is a fixed blade with a 4.50-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.188 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with an OD Green finish, a tall flat grind, and a partially serrated edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.

What is included with this ESEE-4?

The knife comes with its black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.

What does the MOLLE back on the sheath do?

A MOLLE back lets you mount the sheath to the webbing found on many packs, vests, and tactical gear, in addition to belt carry. That gives you more options for where the knife rides.

How is this different from other ESEE-4 versions?

All ESEE-4 models share the same 4.50-inch 1095 blade and tall flat grind. This version pairs a partially serrated OD Green blade and orange G-10 with a black MOLLE-back sheath. The ESEE-4P-OD has the same colorway with a full plain edge, and the ESEE-4S-MB-DT pairs a partially serrated Desert Tan blade with tan Micarta. For a smaller knife in this colorway, choose the ESEE-3S-MB-OD.

How do I sharpen and care for this knife?

Sharpen the plain section as you would any plain edge, and use a tapered ceramic rod on the beveled side of the serrations. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet.

What warranty does the ESEE-4 have, and where is it made?

ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-4 is made in the USA.
